WHAT IS NOEEN?
The New Orleans Early Education Network (NOEEN) is a coalition of community stakeholders that supports and oversees the early childhood community in Orleans Parish. NOEEN supports caregivers and families, and helps early learning centers and schools improve their quality.
NOEEN includes all publicly-funded early care and education providers in Orleans Parish — more than 170 Type III early learning centers, public schools, non-public schools, and family child care providers serving over 7,000 children from birth to age five.
Agenda for Children and NOLA Public Schools jointly oversee the administrative and compliance functions for NOEEN on behalf of the Louisiana Department of Education. Agenda for Children also leads strategy, capacity building, and early childhood quality improvement initiatives on behalf of the community network.
What Does NOEEN DO?
NOEEN coordinates enrollment for publicly-funded childhood seats in New Orleans, giving families a one-stop shop for applying for free child care and Pre-K. NOEEN also serves as an important part of the state’s rating system for early childhood, coordinating twice-annual observations for over 600 classrooms. Additionally, NOEEN supports early educators through coaching and professional development workshops.
